Reliable Backup Power for Farm

Generator Warehouse supplied a BW30C diesel generator and a 160A Control ATS Panel to an end user at a Farm, located in South Yorkshire. The site required dependable standby power to protect essential services across multiple buildings from a single incoming supply point.

The customer requirement

The customer needed a backup power solution that could:

• Support the main incoming supply to an outbuilding
• Automatically maintain continuity of power as the supply then feeds onward to a bungalow and the main house
• Provide a practical, safe installation with the generator positioned externally beside the outbuilding
• Be straightforward to operate and reliable long-term—especially important as this was a direct end-user project, making communication and decision-making clear and efficient

The solution delivered

To meet the site’s needs, Generator Warehouse supplied:

• BW30C 30kVA diesel generator – a robust standby generator suited to residential and light commercial applications

• 160AMP Control ATS Panel (Automatic Transfer Switch) – enabling automatic changeover between utility power and generator supply, ensuring fast, hands-off response during outages

This configuration ensures that when utility power is lost, the ATS detects the outage and transfers the load to generator supply. When mains power returns and stabilises, the system transfers back and allows the generator to shut down safely—delivering seamless protection without manual intervention.
